Abstract | To provide a power supply device having high electromotive force.SOLUTION: A metal air battery that is a power supply device includes a positive electrode 14 with oxygen as a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode 16 with a metal as a negative electrode active material, and a high polymer electrolytic material 12 that is interposed between the positive electrode 14 and the negative electrode 16 and holds water to make gel. The positive electrode 14 has a positive electrode material 17 in which a basic functional group can be formed on a surface by contact with water, or a positive electrode material 17 having a basic functional group on a surface thereof. An amount of the basic functional group formed on the surface of the positive electrode material 17 by the contact with water and an amount of the basic functional group provided on the surface of the positive electrode material 17 are 0.036% or more. Further, the positive electrode 14 has an exposed surface 14b exposed to the atmosphere, and is formed so as to be capable of taking in oxygen in the atmosphere from the exposed surface 14b by the positive electrode material 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
