Abstract To provide a virus deactivator having excellent virus deactivation action and also excellent safety, and sanitary materials.SOLUTION: A virus deactivator contains 1-propanol, and an alkali agent such as alkanolamine, phosphate, and carbonate (excluding sodium hydroxide).
