Abstract | To provide a driving unit and its mounting method which are capable of improving the mounting workability of the driving unit to a mounting object.SOLUTION: A restricting member 80 is configured to restrict the rotation of a drum 60 when a lock member 74 fixes a pulley 71 at a first position P1 and to permit the rotation of the drum 60 when a coil spring 73 moves the pulley 71 to a second position P2. This makes it possible to disable the rotation of the drum 60 before a driving unit 30 is attached to a vehicle body (on-vehicle mounting ready state). Therefore, it is possible to prevent a pair of cables 23 and 24 from loosening in a drum housing and being caught by other components. Thus, the mounting workability of the driving unit 30 to the vehicle body can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
