To safely conduct a leak test on a tank before the tank is filled.SOLUTION: A process and a device for filling a tank (1) with a pressurized gas in a filling station include a first end connected to at least one gas source, and a second end on which a transfer pipe (6) intended to be jointed to a tank to be filled in a removable manner is provided. A leak test is conducted by gas supply with a second valve (11) being open. When a measured pressure is lower than a predetermined threshold value, the process includes: a stage of filling a fluid circuit (5) between two valves (7, 11) by the gas source with a first valve (7) being open; and a stage of closing the first valve (7).
