Abstract | To generate an omnidirectional (spherical) image with a correct vertical direction in accordance with any tilt.SOLUTION: An image capturing apparatus includes: tilt detection means that detects a tilt with respect to a vertical direction; conversion data for converting a plane coordinate value into a spherical coordinate value; correction means that corrects the conversion data in accordance with the tilt; a plurality of pieces of image capturing means; coordinate conversion means that converts plane coordinate values of a plurality of pixels composing images captured by the image capturing means into spherical coordinate values on the basis of the conversion data corrected by the correction means; and combining means that combines the images including the plurality of pixels whose plane coordinate values are converted into the spherical coordinate values by the coordinate conversion means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
