Abstract | To obtain an image forming apparatus that can reduce an image step generated in a foil image area, compared with an image forming apparatus that uniformly superimposes a second toner layer on a first toner layer and further forms a foil image on its upper layer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: first image forming means that forms a first toner layer on a medium for image formation; foil layer forming means that forms a foil layer on a layer higher than the first toner layer on the medium; and second image forming means that forms a second toner layer on a layer lower than the foil layer on the medium so as to complement an image step formed by the first toner layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
