Summary:To provide foamable styrenic resin particles capable of producing a styrenic resin foam particle molding which has excellent self-extinguishing performance, has a small content of an unreacted styrenic monomer, and suppresses reduction in a molecular weight when its weight is reduced by heating, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: Foamable styrenic resin particles are produced by suspension polymerization of a styrenic monomer in the presence of a bromine flame retardant and a flame-retardant assistant. The bromine flame retardant is an organic compound having a 2,3-dibromo-2-methyl propyl group and/or an organic compound having a 2,3-dibromo propyl group. The flame-retardant assistant is poly-(1,4-diisopropylbenzene).SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】優れた自己消火性能を有すると共に、未反応のスチレン系モノマーの含有量が少なく、さらに、加熱減容した際の分子量低下が抑制されるスチレン系樹脂発泡粒子成形体を製造可能な発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子、及びその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】臭素系難燃剤及び難燃助剤の存在下でスチレン系モノマーを懸濁重合することにより発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子を製造する。臭素系難燃剤は、2,3−ジブロモ−2−メチルプロピル基を有する有機化合物及び/又は2,3−ジブロモプロピル基を有する有機化合物である。難燃助剤は、ポリ−(1,4−ジイソプロピルベンゼン)である。【選択図】なし
