The hybrid automobile sets a time during which emission can be secured on the basis of the temperature of the cooling water when the engine is automatically stopped, actuates a heat pump system when the elapsed time after the engine is automatically stopped exceeds the set time during which the emission can be secured, and then stops the heat pump system when the temperature of the cooling water is equal to or higher than the predetermined temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】エネルギ効率の向上を図る。【解決手段】冷却水の温度が所定温度未満であるときには、エンジンの間欠運転を停止してエンジンを継続して運転しながら走行するようにエンジンとモータとを制御する、ハイブリッド自動車であって、エンジンを自動停止している場合において、冷却水の温度に基づいてエミッションを担保可能な時間を設定し、エンジンを自動停止してからの経過時間が設定したエミッションを担保可能な時間を超えたときには、ヒートポンプシステムを作動し、その後、冷却水の温度が所定温度以上となったときには、ヒートポンプシステムを停止する。【選択図】図3
