Abstract To provide a method for managing the quality of a power storage device on the basis of a gas component generated from the power storage device used in an electronic device, an automobile, etc.SOLUTION: A gas component generated from a normal power storage device to be managed is obtained. Next, a power storage device E to be managed is obtained from a customer S, a thermal load or an electrical load is applied to the power storage device E as necessary to generate gas, and a generated gas (management gas) component is analyzed. After the gas component generated from the power storage device E to be managed has been analyzed, a management gas component is compared with a reference gas component, and it is determined whether the quality of the power storage device E is normal or abnormal by determining whether the difference in the management gas component is a slight difference or a significant difference from the reference gas component.
