Abstract To provide a power generation system capable of effectively utilizing carbon dioxide in carbon dioxide-containing gas.SOLUTION: A power generation system 1 includes a direct methanol fuel cell 10 and a methanol synthesizing device 20. The methanol synthesizing device 20 includes: a carbon dioxide separation membrane 24 for separating carbon dioxide from carbon dioxide-containing gas emitted from power plants, steel works, industrial plants and the like; and a methanol synthesizing section 21 to synthesize methanol from synthesis gas of hydrogen and carbon dioxide separated by the carbon dioxide separation membrane 24.
