Abstract | To provide a rudder system improved in propulsion efficiency.SOLUTION: A rudder system includes one propulsion propeller 20 rotating clockwise at a viewpoint looking at bow side from stern side, and a rudder 10 installed on an axial line of the propulsion propeller. The propulsion propeller 20 has a propeller boss cap 21, the propeller boss cap 21 has a boss cap fin 22 generating back wash gyrating in the same direction as the gyrating flow of the propulsion propeller back wash, the rudder 10 has a rudder valve 60 on an axial line of the propulsion propeller 20, the rudder valve 60 has a port side fin 62 and a starboard fin 63 overhanging in respective broadsides on both the right and left broadsides of a rudder plate 30, the port side fin 62 and the starboard fin 63 are located in symmetrical positions to the axial line of the propulsion propeller 20 as well as along the axial line from the rudder valve 60 to the propulsion propeller 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
