Abstract | To provide a technique capable of improving an accuracy of detection.SOLUTION: A video display apparatus 1 includes: an operation detection apparatus 2 that detects an operation including contact by an operation object 7 including a finger of a user to an operation surface 4 set in association with a display surface 3; a camera 5 that is an optical sensor for detecting an image by the operation object 7 on the operation surface 4; and a microphone 6 that is a non-optical sensor for detecting sound or vibration caused by contacting the operation object 7 on the operation surface 4. The operation detection apparatus 2 detects a state including contact or non-contact by the operation object 7 to the operation surface 4 using first detection information of the optical sensor and second detection information of the non-optical sensor, and outputs detection data. When detecting a state in which the operation surface 4 and the operation object 7 contact from the first detection information, and the sound or the vibration corresponding to the state of contacting from the second detection information, the operation detection apparatus 2 determines that it is in the contact state generally.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
