Abstract | To provide an electronic device capable of making safer azimuth angle measurements, and to provide a method and program for controlling the same.SOLUTION: An electronic device is provided, comprising a controller configured to control switching between a first mode for transmitting a transmission wave toward a first direction, and a second mode for transmitting the transmission wave toward a second direction lower than the first direction. When a predetermined condition is detected within a predetermined distance while in the first mode, the controller provides control to switch the mode to the second mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
