Abstract | To provide a driving assisting device with which a burden of a driver when driving is reduced.SOLUTION: A driving assisting device is provided with a transmissive display device for displaying a virtual image over a real scene at the outside of a vehicle on the basis of the viewpoint position of an occupant. The driving assisting device is also provided with a first storage unit 21, a second storage unit 22, a calculation unit 24, and a control unit 25. The first storage unit 21 stores map data that identifies a shape of a road where the vehicle is traveling. The second storage unit 22 stores the travel data of a virtual vehicle drawn so as to travel in the road with a prescribed travel path and a speed. The calculation unit 24 calculates, on the basis of the map data, the travel data and the viewpoint position, the display position of the virtual vehicle when it is assumed that the virtual vehicle exists in the real scene. The control unit 25 causes the virtual vehicle to be displayed at the display position calculated by the calculation unit 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
