Abstract | To provide a thermal energy recovery device capable of stabilizing the liquid level height within an evaporator and the liquid level height within a condenser.SOLUTION: A thermal energy recovery device (1) includes: an evaporator (10); an expander (12); a power recovery machine (14); a condenser (16); a circulation pump (18); a circulation flow passage (20); a branch flow passage (30) connected to the circulation flow passage (20) so as to become parallel with a portion of the circulation flow passage (20) where a liquid-phase working medium flows; a storage section (32) provided in the branch flow passage (30) to store the liquid-phase working medium; a first on-off valve (V1) provided in a portion upstream of the storage section (32) in the branch flow passage (30); and a second on-off valve (V2) provided in a portion downstream of the storage section (32) in the branch flow passage (30).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
