Abstract | To provide a low included pseudo-polyrotaxane or polyrotaxane, and/or a manufacturing method for selectively providing the low included pseudo-polyrotaxane or polyrotaxane at high yield.SOLUTION: The above described problem is solved by pseudo-polyrotaxane, in which an aperture of a cyclic molecule which is at least one kind selected from a group consisting of α-cyclodextrin, β-cyclodextrin, and γ-cyclodextrin, is included in a skewer shape by a water-soluble linear molecule, a part of -OH groups in the cyclic molecule is substituted by -O-(CHR)-CHR-OH, where Ris H, a methyl group or an ethyl group, Ris H, a methyl group or an ethyl group, n is an integer of 1 to 6, and inclusion rate of the cyclic molecule is 1 to 22% when normal inclusion rate defined by length of the water-soluble linear molecule and thickness of the cyclic molecule is 100%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
