Abstract To suppress shock in park lock release.SOLUTION: A controller 50 controls a vehicle 100 including: an automatic transmission TM having a coupling element coupled when a predetermined travel range is selected, a detent mechanism 60, a range select valve 24 linking with the detent mechanism 60, and a park lock mechanism 30 linking with the detent mechanism 60; and an electric parking brake 80. When a shift change operation from a predetermined travel range to a parking range is performed, the controller 50 moves the detent mechanism 60 after release of the coupling element is completed, makes a park lock mechanism 30 be a park lock state.
