Abstract | To provide a technique which prevents user-friendliness from worsening even in the case of connecting a terminal device compliant with a communication standard which represents an operation state as one of two states of an on state and an off state.SOLUTION: A first communication standard capable of representing a controlled operation state as one of a plurality of states and a second communication standard representing the controlled operation state as one of two states of an on state and an off state are defined. A controller 10 can communicate with a terminal device 18 of a second type compliant with the second communication standard via a conversion adapter 16 for message conversion between the first communication standard and the second communication standard by executing communication in accordance with the first communication standard. A search unit 50 searches for a connection of the terminal device 18 of the second type via a terminal device 14 of a first type. When the connection of the terminal device 18 of the second type is detected by the search of the search unit 50, a setting unit 52 sets a class of the terminal device 18 of the second type.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
