Abstract | To provide a paper conveying device which corrects displacement of the width direction of paper accurately.SOLUTION: A paper conveying device comprises: a roller member which nips paper at a predetermined position and carries the paper by rotating; a driving part which drives the roller member in the width direction; an edge sensor which detects an edge of the paper in an edge detection position which is a position on the lower side of the paper conveying direction compared with the predetermined position and is a position on one side of the width direction; and a control part which stops rotation of the roller member and corrects a position of the width direction of the paper on the basis of an output value of the edge sensor when a conveying amount of the paper from the predetermined position has reached an object conveying amount. The control part increases the object conveying amount when the paper is the special paper compared with a case that the paper is not the special paper.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
