Abstract To achieve power saving while enhancing responsiveness immediately after data communication.SOLUTION: In a communication system 1, a processing device 20 includes: a transmission time calculation unit 23 that calculates transmission time when a paging signal should be transmitted to a terminal 10 on the basis of paging interval information on the terminal 10 and time when data was received from the terminal 10 held by a terminal information holding unit 21; and a paging transmission unit 24 that transmits the paging signal to the terminal 10 when the transmission time arrives. The terminal 10 includes: a reception time calculation unit 13 that calculates reception time when the paging signal is expected to be received from the processing device 20 on the basis of the paging interval information held by an interval information holding unit 11 and time when the data was transmitted; and a reception control unit 14 that stands by in a state capable of receiving the paging signal at the reception time.
