Abstract To suppress pump-up of a lash adjuster.SOLUTION: In a lash adjuster 10, a plunger 21 is stored in a body 11. A valve hole 25 communicating a storage chamber 28 which is an internal space of the plunger 21 with a filling chamber 15 which is a space between the body 11 and the plunger 21 is formed on a bottom wall 24 of the plunger 21. A first spring 51 energizing the plunger 21 to a direction to which the plunger 21 protrudes from the body 11 is formed in the filling chamber 15. A valve element 19 which can close the valve hole 25, and a first retainer 31 which stores the valve element 19 are provided in the filling chamber 15.
