Abstract | To provide an airtight secondary battery capable of completely operating a safety mechanism when an overcharge occurs.SOLUTION: The airtight secondary battery includes: an electrode body including a positive electrode plate; a battery case; a safety mechanism which operates when an inner pressure of the battery case exceeds a prescribed working pressure and executes a prescribed safety guarantee operation; a positive electrode potential member which is arranged outside the electrode body and an own potential of which becomes a positive electrode potential of the positive electrode plate; and a mixture of a gas generating agent which is arranged in contact with the positive electrode potential member and which blends a conductive agent and a binder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
