To provide a chair which can perform proper support corresponding to motion of a body of a seated person, even when the attitude of the seated person is changed and the centroid is moved, can be stably used in the attitude thereafter, enables the seated person to obtain a comfortable seating feeling even when the person is seated for a long time, and enables the seated person to stably maintain high work efficiency, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A chair includes: legs erected from a floor surface; a seat 3 provided above the legs; and a support device 2 which has a forward and backward support mechanism 24 arranged below the seat 3 and movably supporting the seat 3 at least on two parts in a forward and backward direction, and a left and right support mechanism 23 arranged below the seat 3 and turnably supporting the seat 3 around a shaft m. Both of the support mechanisms 24, 23 include a seat inclination function for inclining downward a tip side in the movement direction of the seat 3 according as the seat 3 moves from a prescribed reference position, respectively. Furthermore, there is provided a return force generation device P for generating, according to a movement quantity, return force in a direction for returning the seat 3 moved in a backward direction or a left and right direction from the reference position, to the reference position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】着座者の体の動きに対応した適切なサポートができ、姿勢を変化させて重心を移動させてもその後の姿勢で安定して使用することができ、着座者が長時間着座していても快適な着座感を得ることが可能で、高い作業効率を安定して維持し得る椅子を、簡易な構造によって提供する。【解決手段】床面から立設される脚と、脚の上方に設けられた座３と、支持装置２が、座３の下方に配置され、座３を少なくとも前後方向の２箇所で移動可能に支持する前後支持機構２４と、座３の下方に配置され、座３を軸ｍ回りに回動可能に支持する左右支持機構２３とを有し、支持機構２４、２３の何れも座３が所定の基準位置から移動するに従い座３の移動方向先端側を下向きに傾斜させる座傾斜機能を備えるとともに、基準位置から後方向又は左右方向に移動した座３を基準位置へ戻す方向の復帰力を移動量に応じて発生させる復帰力発生装置Ｐを備えた。【選択図】図２
