Abstract To increase illumination intensity and extend a range where the illumination intensity is uniform.SOLUTION: An LED illumination device includes an optical unit consisting of a plurality of lenses 3 and LEDs 2. The lens 3 is a resin convex lens whose first surface is flat or nearly flat. The LED 2 disposed close to the optical axis of the lens 3 has a flat light emitting surface, and its light distribution is a Lambert distribution.
