Abstract | To prevent the occurrence of a dust-like abnormal image even when a sheet with a small thickness is fed.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a conveyance belt 61 that conveys a sheet P between a transfer nip N1 and a fixing nip N2; a motor Mt3 (driving means) that drives the conveyance belt 61; and a paper thickness sensor 93 (thickness detection means) that detects the thickness of the sheet P conveyed by the conveyance belt 61. When the thickness detected by the paper thickness sensor 93 is small, a control unit 90 controls the motor Mt3 so as to reduce a velocity ratio A/B (=surface linear velocity A of conveyance belt 61/surface linear velocity B of transfer rotating body 70) compared with that when the thickness is large.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
