Abstract | To provide a device and method for evaluating an inverter circuit for an electric motor.SOLUTION: An evaluation device 30 for an inverter circuit for an electric motor includes a three-phase/two-phase converter 43, a current control system 33, a gate signal generator 35, and a diagnosis part 36. The three-phase/two-phase converter 43 converts a primary side three-phase current i,i,1of an electric moto 10 connected to an inverter circuit 20 into a d-axis current i, and a q-axis current i. The current control system 33 generates command values v, vof d-axis and q-axis voltages for defining the q-axis current ias the command value inear zero and the d-axis current ias a prescribed command value iby feedback control. The gate signal generator 35 generates a gate signal gs based on the command values v, vto apply the command values to the inverter circuit 20.
