To accurately extract a concern of a user.SOLUTION: The information extraction apparatus of an embodiment includes a setting unit, an extracting unit, and an information providing unit. The setting unit sets a time width for acquiring a usage history of a user retroactively from a current time. The extraction unit extracts a concern of the user relating to the usage history based on the usage history acquired with the set time width. The information providing unit provides information based on the extracted concern to the user, and acquires a result of an operation by the user in response to the providing of the information.
