Abstract | To enable recovery to the normal state from the power saving state at the more suitable timing than that of the conventional art for power saving in an image formation apparatus which is turned into the power saving state.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 1 having the power saving mode of saving the power consumption includes: an area entry detection unit 101 which detects entry of a user to an installation area being a location where the image formation apparatus 1 is installed or a prescribed location in the vicinity of it; and a normal mode switching unit 109 which maintains the power saving mode when it is estimated that the user whose entry is detected by the area entry detection unit 101 in the power saving mode is the same as the user whose entry is detected by the area entry detection unit 101 before the power saving mode, and releases the power saving mode when it is estimated that the users are not the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
