Abstract | To suppress the NVH of a compression ignition type engine to a permissible value or lower during high revolution.SOLUTION: A control device includes a spark plug 25, and a controller 10. The controller 10 performs SPCCI combustion such that combustion is started with the spark plug 25 firing air-fuel mixture, followed by self-ignition combustion of unburnt air-fuel mixture. The controller 10 uses heat quantity ratio change means 102a for making a heat quantity ratio higher when the revolution speed of an engine 1 is high than when low.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
