Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate detection sensor with which it is possible to facilitate the flow of a gas in a sensor and stabilize the flow speed of the gas, and to stabilize sensor output.SOLUTION: A particulate detection sensor 10 comprises a center electrode 11, a cylindrical electrode 12, a housing 13, a first gas passage 14, a second gas passage 15, and a detection unit, with a gas inlet 10a for introducing a gas g into the first gas passage 14 provided at one end and a gas outlet 10b for discharging the gas g from the second gas passage 15 provided at the other end. The first gas passage 14 and the second gas passage 15 communicate with each other at the other end. The gas inlet 10a includes a plurality of openings 13a arranged on a circumference enclosing the gas outlet 10b. The gas outlet 10b is provided projecting by a greater dimension than is the gas inlet 10a. The diameter of an opening 13a on the upstream side of a gas G flowing on the outside of the gas inlet 10a is smaller than the diameter of the opening 13a on the downstream side of the gas G.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
