Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism of easily generating a document to be used by an end user of an application, in an application development tool.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus for generating a program to be used as an application manages input definition information defining items to be input via a screen of the application and output definition information defining items to be output to the screen, as input-output definition information. By use of the input-output definition information, a program to be used as an application is generated (S506).
