Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the friction modifier for a lubricant and the lubricant composition that have improved friction reducing action.SOLUTION: The friction modifier for a lubricant blended with base oil of the lubricant composition comprises a compound composed of a linear chain part comprising a linear saturated hydrocarbon and a terminal part which is bonded to a carbon atom located at an end of the linear chain part and has a plurality of hydroxy groups. The terminal part preferably has two hydroxy groups. Also, the compound is preferably n-alkyl-1,2-diol having 12 to 18 carbon atoms. Further, the compound has more preferably 16 or more to 18 or less carbon atoms.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】摩擦低減作用を向上させた潤滑油用摩擦調整剤および潤滑油組成物を提供する。【解決手段】潤滑油組成物において、基油に配合される潤滑油用摩擦調整剤は、直鎖状の飽和炭化水素からなる直鎖部分と直鎖部分の末端に位置する炭素原子に結合する末端部分であって複数のヒドロキシ基を有する末端部分とで構成された化合物を含有する。末端部分は、2つのヒドロキシ基を有することが好ましい。また、化合物は、化合物における炭素原子数が12以上18以下のn−アルキル−1,2−ジオールであることが好ましい。また、化合物における炭素原子数が16以上18以下であることがさらに好ましい。【選択図】なし |
