PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for transmitting a short message service (SMS) efficiently in a radio communication system.SOLUTION: A transmission method of SMS at the core network node of a PS domain receives first information to use only SMS out of a CS network services from a terminal, transmits position update message containing second information to support the SMS at the core network node of a PS domain to HSS, receives subscriber information containing third information to instruct whether or not the SMS via the core network node of the PS domain is supported from the HSS, and when it is supported, transmits fourth information to support the SMS via the PS network, and determines whether or not position update is performed for the CS network based on the third information.
