Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: reduction in light leaking from a light guide part to the outside of the light guide part is not sufficiently examined.SOLUTION: In a photoelectric conversion element including a light guide part, a first plane, a second plane, and a third plane each include a first portion of the light guide part, and a second portion of the light guide part that is surrounded by the first portion and has a lower refractive index than that of the first portion; on the first plane, the length of the width of the second portion is a first length; on the second plane, the length of the width of the second portion is a second length; on the third plane, the length of the width of the second portion is a third length; the second length is shorter than both the first length and third length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】 導光部から導光部の外部に漏れ出す光を低減する検討が十分ではなかった。【解決手段】 第1平面と、第2平面と、第3平面のそれぞれにおいて、導光部の第1部分と、第1部分に囲まれ、第1部分よりも屈折率の低い、導光部の第2部分とが含まれ、第1平面において、第2部分の幅の長さは第1の長さであり、第2平面において、第2部分の幅の長さは第2の長さであり、第3平面において、第2部分の幅の長さは第3の長さであり、第2の長さが、第1の長さと、第3の長さのそれぞれよりも短い導光部を備える光電変換素子である。【選択図】 図4
