Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress combustion noise by properly performing combustion by compression self-ignition.SOLUTION: A control device of a compression self-ignition type engine 1 controls compression self-ignition by ignition. The control device comprises an intake dynamic valve mechanism 23 which can change the valve-closing timing of an intake valve 21, a controller 10, and an ignition plug 25 for igniting an air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber 17.
