Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of acquiring an addition signal while suppressing waste of an optical signal.SOLUTION: The first charge holding unit, in a state in which charges generated in the photoelectric conversion unit are held during a first period, holds the charges generated in the photoelectric conversion unit during a second period which is not continuous with the first period and is different in length from the first period. The second charge holding unit holds charges generated in the photoelectric conversion unit during a third period which does not overlap with the first period and the second period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
