Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle which can quickly reduce a forward vehicle speed when the vehicle moves forward in a state that constitution of a reverse range is indicated.SOLUTION: When forward movement of a vehicle in a state that a shift lever is positioned in a R-position (Reverse position) is detected, vehicle speed reduction control is performed. In the vehicle speed reduction control, for example, a brake actuator or the like is controlled, prescribed hydraulic pressure is input to the brake actuator from a brake master cylinder irrespective of an operation of a brake pedal, the hydraulic pressure is distributed to respective brakes, and thus, brake forces are automatically applied to wheels from respective brakes (automatic brake operation). By operations of the automatic brakes, a forward vehicle speed at the automatic brake operation is greatly reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
