PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an unintended change in gap in a recording device comprising gap adjustment means for adjusting a gap by slide operation of a cam.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a carriage comprising a recording head and being movable in a scanning direction of the recording head; a guide member guiding the carriage; gap adjustment means displacing a housing in a direction in which a gap changes; and a switching member engaging with the gap adjustment means and causing the gap adjustment means to execute gap switching. The gap adjustment means comprises: a slide member; a cam member displacing the housing in the direction in which the gap changes by sliding with respect to the housing and the slide member; and a regulation member being capable of switching between a regulation state for regulating relative displacement of the cam member with respect to the housing and the slide member and a permissive state for permitting the relative displacement of the cam member with respect to the housing and the slide member, and being held in the regulation state at least in a state of not engaging with the switching member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】カムのスライド動作によってギャップを調整するギャップ調整手段を備えた記録装置において意図しないギャップの変化を抑制する。【解決手段】記録装置は、記録ヘッドを備え、記録ヘッドの走査方向に移動可能なキャリッジと、キャリッジをガイドするガイド部材と、ギャップが変化する方向に筐体を変位させるギャップ調整手段と、ギャップ調整手段と係合し、ギャップ調整手段にギャップ切り換えを実行させる切換部材とを備え、ギャップ調整手段は摺動部材と、筐体と摺動部材に対してスライドすることにより筐体をギャップが変化する方向に変位させるカム部材と、カム部材の筐体及び摺動部材に対する相対的な変位を規制する規制状態と、カム部材の筐体及び摺動部材に対する相対的な変位を許容する許容状態とを切り換え可能であり、少なくとも切換部材と係合しない状態では規制状態に保持される規制部材とを備える。【選択図】図５
