Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent loosening of a transfer target member.SOLUTION: A belt-like transfer unit comprises: a transfer target member that is conveyed through a route passing through a contact portion in contact with an image holding body holding an image on its surface and has the image transferred thereto; a first transfer device that transfers the image to the transfer target member from the image holding body; and holding members that are in contact, from the image holding body side, with non-image areas extending along the edges of the transfer target member and not having the image transferred thereto to hold the transfer target member, and prevent contact with an image area that has the image transferred thereto.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
