Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize rattling generated by using a four-point grid, while ensuring estimation accuracy of color conversion by extrapolation calculation using a scanner profile.SOLUTION: For ech of multiple RGB values having continuity, multiple four points (four points of profile data) sets are selected, an estimate group is calculated by estimating L*a*b* value by using respective four points sets, four points sets corresponding to the L*a*b* value at a low density place are removed from among the estimate group, priority is set for the remaining four points sets, and a table for mapping the RGB value and four points sets and priority is created. When performing color conversion of input data, four points sets corresponding to each RGB value of input data are selected according to the priority, with reference to the table, and then the L*a*b* values are estimated by using the selected four points sets.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 【課題】スキャナプロファイルを使用した補外計算による色変換の推定精度を確保しつつ、4点グリッドを使用することによって発生するガタツキを最小限に抑える。【解決手段】連続性のある複数のRGB値の各々に対して複数の4点(プロファイルデータの4点)の組を選択し、各々の4点の組を用いてL*a*b*値を推定して推定値群を算出し、推定値群の中から、密集度の低い所に位置するL*a*b*値に対応する4点の組を除外し、残りの4点の組に優先度を設定し、RGB値と4点の組と優先度とを対応付けるテーブルを作成する。そして、入力データを色変換する際に、テーブルを参照して、入力データの各RGB値に対応する4点の組を優先度に従って選択し、選択した4点の組を用いてL*a*b*値を推定する。【選択図】図10
