PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overturning prevention device capable of easily discriminating whether or not it is properly attached.SOLUTION: An overturning prevention device 1 is attached between a top face of furniture F (an article) and a ceiling C. The overturning prevention device 1 is provided with a damper 10. The damper 10 includes a cylinder 11, a rod 13, a piston 14, and a rod cover 16. The cylinder 11 is formed into a cylindrical shape with a bottom, and encapsulates hydraulic oil L (hydraulic liquid) and compressed gas G (gas). The rod 13 projects upward from the cylinder 11, and is reciprocatably inserted. The piston 14, to which a base end part of the rod 13 is connected, is slidably stored in the cylinder 11. The rod cover 16 whose one end part is connected to the tip side of the rod 13 reciprocates with the rod 13. An opening side end of the rod cover 16 is located closer to a bottom side end than to an opening side end of the cylinder 11 in a state that the piston 14 is immersed in the hydraulic oil L.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】適切に取り付けられているか否かを容易に判別できる転倒防止装置を提供する。【解決手段】転倒防止装置１は家具Ｆ（物品）の上面と天井Ｃとの間に取り付けられる。転倒防止装置１はダンパ１０を備えている。ダンパ１０は、シリンダ１１、ロッド１３、ピストン１４及びロッドカバー１６を有している。シリンダ１１は有底筒状に形成され、作動油Ｌ（作動液体）及び圧縮ガスＧ（ガス）を封入する。ロッド１３は、シリンダ１１から上方に向けて突出し、往復移動自在に挿入されている。ピストン１４はシリンダ１１内に摺動自在に収納されており、ロッド１３の基端部が連結されている。ロッドカバー１６はロッド１３の先端側に一端部が連結されてロッド１３とともに往復移動する。そして、ロッドカバー１６は、ピストン１４が作動油Ｌ内に浸漬された状態において、開口部側の端部が、シリンダ１１の開口部側端よりも底部側端寄りに位置している。【選択図】図１
