Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device which can suppress damage on at least one of a recording medium and a liquid discharge part when the recording medium and the liquid discharge part are in contact with each other.SOLUTION: A recording device 1 includes: a liquid discharge part (carriage 11) which discharges ink on a recording medium P; a conveying part which conveys the recording medium P in a conveyance direction; a piezoelectric film sensor 32 which is arranged on the liquid discharge part and outputs in response to a degree of deformation by contact of the recording medium P; and a control part which controls the liquid discharge part and/or the conveying part based on output of the piezoelectric film sensor 32 and attribute information of the recording medium P.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
