Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color separation optical system that reduces an interference fringe ghost to be observed on a monitor screen when a subject is high in luminance.SOLUTION: A color separation prism, which divides an incident light flux into a plurality of light fluxes, and guides the plurality of light fluxes to a solid state image pick-up element arranged at respective optical paths, has: a first prism that includes a first reflection surface 3 reflecting a first light flux and transmitting a second light flux, and guides the first light flux to a first solid state image pick-up element; a second prism that includes a second reflection surface 7 arranged across an air gap with respect to the first reflection surface, and reflecting the second light flux incident from the air gap, and guides the second light flux reflected upon the second reflection surface and reflected upon a surface contacting with the air gap to a second solid state image pick-up element different from the first solid state image pick-up element; and an edge filter 9 that is made up of a dielectric substance passing a green and red to an incident surface of the second prism, and blocking an IR.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】被写体が高輝度のときには、モニター画面上で観察される干渉縞ゴーストを低減した色分解光学系を提供する。【解決手段】入射光束を複数の光束に分割し、該複数の光束をそれぞれの光路に配置された固体撮像素子へ導く色分解プリズムであって、第1の光束を反射し第2の光束を透過する第1反射面3を備え、前記第1の光束を第1の固体撮像素子へ導く第1プリズムと、前記第1反射面に対して空隙を挟んで配置されており、前記空隙から入射した前記第2の光束を反射する第2反射面7を備え、前記第2反射面で反射し前記空隙に接する面で反射した前記第2の光束を前記第1の固体撮像素子とは異なる第2の固体撮像素子へ導く第2プリズムと、を有し、前記第2プリズムの入射面に緑と赤を通し、赤外を阻害する誘電体よりなるエッジフィルタ9を有することを特徴とする。【選択図】図1
