Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve contact characteristic of a casting cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A surface of a cylinder liner 1 has a rough outer surface. The surface is covered by projections or protrusions 2 of various shapes and sizes, they are made by injecting a coating material to a casting die and casting the cylinder liner within the casting die. The protrusions 2 are substantially conical or needle-like shape, their bases are larger than their extremity ends. The protrusions 2 have a total cross section of 50 to 90% of an entire area of a cylindrical cutting surface under a measurement at a place by 0.2 mm apart from the cylindrical cutting surface and a total cross section area of 20 to 45% of an entire area of the cylindrical cutting surface under a measurement at a place by 0.4 mm apart from the cylindrical cutting surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】鋳造する内燃機関用のシリンダライナの密着特性を改善する。【解決手段】シリンダライナ1の面は、粗い外面を有する。さまざまな形状及びサイズの突出又は突起2で覆われ、それらは、鋳型にコーティングを噴霧し、シリンダライナをその鋳型の中で鋳造することによって作成される。突起2は、概して円錐形又は針形であり、基部が先端より大きい。突起2は、円筒研削面から0.2mmにおける測定で円筒研削面の全面積の50〜90%の総断面積、円筒研削面から0.4mmにおける測定で円筒研削面の全面積の20〜45%の総断面積を有する。【選択図】図1
