Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion coating material capable of forming a coating film excellent in hydrophilicity and stain resistance.SOLUTION: A method for producing an emulsion coating material includes: a step of mixing an aqueous solution of a silicon compound and an aqueous solution of an aluminum compound to prepare a suspension of precursor particles of an inorganic silicate polymer; a step of removing salt of a by-product from the suspension of the precursor particles of the inorganic silicate polymer; a step of subjecting the suspension of the precursor particles of the inorganic silicate polymer from which salt has been removed to a hydrothermal reaction to obtain a suspension of inorganic silicate polymer particles; and a step of mixing the suspension of the inorganic silicate polymer particles and resin emulsion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
