Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee airbag device capable of: directing the flow of an inflator gas injected from an inflator into an airbag, reliably toward the opening side of a housing, thereby to prevent the contact of the airbag with the housing; and extending and expanding the airbag properly to the outside of the housing thereby to retain the knee part protection function of a passenger sufficiently.SOLUTION: A housing 1 of a hollow box body shape having an opening 1a to be closed in an openable manner by a door part 2a is equipped therein with a gas deflecting member 9 of a plate wall shape disposed between an inflator 4 and a rear side wall part 1c and formed to have such a size B as to overlap the inflator along the depth direction of the housing from the side of a mounting wall part 1e to the opening side thereby to direct the flow of the inflator gas to be blown from the inflator into the inside of an air bag 3 toward the opening side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
