Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position indication method with which it is possible to indicate movement to a discretionary position to a self-propelled device.SOLUTION: The position indication method includes the steps of: storing, in a map database 24, map information in which position information relating to the position of a self-propelled cleaner 4 in a travel area and a first feature value calculated from an image photographed at the position are correlated; acquiring an object image in which a first object present at a first position in the travel area is photographed; calculating a second feature value from the object image; extracting map information that includes the first feature value that matches the second feature value from the map database 24; specifying a second position that corresponds to the first position on the basis of the extracted map information; and notifying an indication for moving the self-propelled cleaner 4 to the specified second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
