PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device for easily acquiring optical coefficient information of a subject.SOLUTION: The processing device includes: first acquisition means for acquiring distribution of first characteristic information of a subject based on an electric signal obtained by receiving acoustic waves propagating from the subject irradiated with light; second acquisition means for acquiring a feature amount of the distribution of the first characteristic information of the subject; third acquisition means for acquiring information showing a correspondence relation between an optical coefficient and the feature amount of the distribution of the first characteristic information; and fourth acquisition means for acquiring an optical coefficient of the subject by using the feature amount of the distribution of the first characteristic information of the subject and information showing the correspondence relation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】本発明は、被検体の光学係数情報を簡易に取得する処理装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】本発明の処理装置は、光が照射された被検体から伝搬する音響波を受信することにより得られた電気信号に基づいた前記被検体の第１特性情報の分布を取得する第１取得手段と、前記被検体の第１特性情報の分布の特徴量を取得する第２取得手段と、光学係数と第１特性情報の分布の特徴量との対応関係を示す情報を取得する第３取得手段と、前記被検体の第１特性情報の分布の特徴量と、前記対応関係を示す情報とを用いて前記被検体の光学係数を取得する第４取得手段と、を有することを特徴とする。【選択図】図３
