Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber array capable of increasing optical coupling efficiency without precisely performing dimension doubling of a length direction of optical fiber.SOLUTION: An optical fiber array 1 includes: a V-groove substrate 2 on which a V-groove 3 is formed; an optical fiber core wire 61 that is attached and fixed in the V-groove 3; and a presser-foot substrate 4 that interleaves the optical fiber core wire 61 and is attached and fixed on a surface of the V-groove substrate 2. The optical fiber core wire 61 includes a small core diameter first optical fiber core wire 11 whose apical surface 11a is exposed from an end surface 2b of the V-groove substrate 2 and a large core diameter second optical fiber core wire 12 that is coaxially fused onto a rear end surface thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
