Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge head which achieves an even discharge characteristic by suppressing variations in discharge port dimension and various characteristics of a recording element and secures high recording quality by suppressing a density change in discharged liquid.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge head includes: a substrate which has a plurality of recording elements on a surface; a discharge port formation member which has a plurality of discharge ports which are provided on the surface side of the substrate and formed to discharge liquid, and constitutes pressure chambers communicated with each discharge port between the pressure chambers and the substrate for each discharge port; a supply port and a recovery port which pass through the substrate and are communicated with the plurality of pressure chambers. The recording elements are arranged in a row so as to constitute a recording element row. At least one dummy recording element is provided at an end of the recording element row and the remaining recording elements are defined as recording elements related to discharge. The recording elements related to discharge are arranged in the pressure chamber for each pressure chamber, and the discharge port is provided to correspond to only the recording element related to discharge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 23 【課題】吐出口寸法や記録素子の諸特性におけるばらつきを抑制して均一な吐出特性を実現し、吐出される液体における濃度変化も抑制して高い記録品質を確保する液体吐出ヘッドを提供する。【解決手段】液体吐出ヘッドは、複数の記録素子が表面に基板と、基板の表面側に設けられて液体を吐出する複数の吐出口が形成され、吐出口ごとに基板との間でその吐出口に連通する圧力室を構成する吐出口形成部材と、基板を貫通して複数の圧力室に連通する供給口及び回収口と、を有する。基板表面において、記録素子は列をなして配置して記録素子列を構成し、記録素子列の端部において少なくとも1つのダミーの記録素子が備えられており、残余の記録素子を吐出に関わる記録素子とする。圧力室ごとにその圧力室の内部に吐出に関わる記録素子を配置し、吐出口は吐出に関わる記録素子のみに対応して設けられるようにする。【選択図】図23
